Whew! Okay, didn’t realize it had been so long since I had updated the website. Basically, there has not been any update to report – just a lot of long, waiting! Yuck!
So, here’s our update as of today. We were told DNA was ordered last week, well, actually I think the week before that. We receive the results via (snail) mail. We will actually get the results before the agency does. We will receive a picture of the birth mother with the boys.
What getting the DNA means – it usually means that we would be free to travel and visit the boys. However, there has been a little unrest in Guatemala and Gary and I are not sure if we’re going to “risk” a visit right now – (we’re concerned for the safety of the foster mother and the boys – Guatemala is not a dangerous place for Americans or travelers). So, we’re still undecided on the visit.
We also got word that our case was going to be presented before the Guatemala Embassy last week which means that we receive pre-approval and move to the last stage of the process called PGN. PGN is all God – there are no rules, no exact steps or process. We could in PGN 6-13 weeks or two weeks or much longer. It is all up to Him and our prayers to get us in and out of the PGN stage with no problems.
Now, on to more exciting things – we were able to send another care package down a few weeks ago – we included more outfits, blankets, another disposable camera and a mini tape recorder – I recorded myself reading books to Austin and Logan in the hopes that the foster mother will play them and that they’ll recognize my voice.
So, hopefully come this Thursday of Friday, we’ll get new pictures and video of Austin and Logan and we’ll get them on the website ASAP. They turned 6 months old October 29th. They’re last pictures/video were at 3 months. So, I can’t wait to see what they’re up to now. ;-)
Thanks and God Bless!

10/19/06
Not a word since Aug 27th. I started crying on Monday and just can’t seem to stop. I am overwhelmed at the loss of knowing my boys will not be in my arms at 6 months of age – a time I had assured myself they would be here by.
I am begging God for mercy. What purpose, what life lesion is to be gained here? Why am I the “chosen” one to suffer so? All around I watch women get pregnant “on accident.” Why is my cross so heavy to bear and why is it that I reject that cross so easily? I surrender, take it from me. Why when God could make it so easy (easy mind you in the sense that we failed at invitro and natural conception, easy in the sense that I didn’t get to bear my own children, or hold them at birth). This, he could have spared me. He could have me wait only a little while before I got them, I know He can do all things, if it was Hid will – my babies would be in my arms. What is Hid plan? Why the suffering? What good can come of this? My children are healthy and happy and bonding with someone else, they don’t even know that I exist – and I will be intruding upon their happy little lives after they’re well established into it and snatching them up from all they know, from all they’re comfortable with and love. What good is that? Why not choose a path less filled with pain? I truly believe my character is thick enough, I’ve have become an expert at patience and Faith – knowing that God will do what he has promised me. So why the extra burden? What benefits are gained by pushing me even further? Oh, pity, pity, pity party.
I know that God is my Savior, that Jesus carried a cross far heavier than mine. I am no martyr. I am not saving the world. I just want my child and I will do whatever God asks of me to get this end result. I thank God for the strength he has filled me with. I thank God for carrying me when I can’t go any further. He is my Savior and He will deliver me to my child. Thank you God for all your love and grace and mercy.

Mommy's First Shower
Well, and Daddy's!
Anne hosted a wonderful, wonderful shower for Mommy and Daddy and our loving and generous church showered us with so much love!
Bonus: Austin and Logan were there "in pictures." So, so sweet to have them "participate!"

Medical Update
Well, no news on DNA, but we did get another medical update. Boys look wonderful - so healthy and well cared for. It's getting quite hard to watch them grow up so much. We continue to keep our eye on the prize, knowing one day (but not soon ENOUGH), Austin and Logan will be in our arms!

9/27/06
Well, not sure what happened in August, we did not get medical updates. However, yesterday we received another medical check-up report. Both boys are doing fine, Austin now weighs 13.4 lbs and Logan weighs 12.6. The check-up is just 4 days shy of their 5 month birthday mark.
We’re still waiting for DNA tests to be ordered, boo!
Mom and I are still working on the crib decorations, bumper pads and all and I’m excited because Anne is throwing me a shower at church this weekend.
